Judged by an expert panel, the 18 categories sought to recognise innovative new products and services which cut costs, streamline operations and contribute to safer, more fuel-efficient fleets.

Trophies were presented at a networking lunch, held at Twickenham Stadium, London.

“The 2018 Van Awards is a celebration of the very best light commercial vehicles and service providers. With Vans A2Z now an integral part of the Fleet World Group, we have separated the Van Fleet World awards from last month’s Fleet World Honours, bringing together our fleet and SME van awards in a single event. Attended by a wide range of manufacturers and suppliers, the Van Awards turned the spotlight on those companies that are leading the way, with innovative light commercial vehicle solutions, both in van manufacture and in support services.

“The way that vans are used, particularly in the urban environment, is constantly changing to meet the needs of fleets. Which is one of the reasons that we are not just dependant on van manufacturers, but on the huge technological support network that surrounds vehicle use,” said Dan Gilkes, editor of Van Fleet World. “That’s why I am particularly delighted that we have had a record number of entries for our innovation awards this year, from telematics to leasing, cool chain to fleet management. Judging these entries was not easy, as there are many highly innovative products and services on offer to van fleets. We face a fast-changing future and companies will have to run to keep up. But, as these awards prove, there is certainly no shortage of innovation and technological development for van fleet managers to choose from.”
