Alphabet publishes free guide to minimising van fleet downtime

Intended to help fleets identify and pre-empt potential vehicle downtime hotspots, a new free guide is available from Alphabet.

The Alphabet guide can help operators minimise downtime.

According to research by the Freight Transport Association, unplanned vehicle offroad time (VOR) averages five or six days per vehicle per year on top of an average of three days’ planned downtime for scheduled maintenance and repairs.

In response, the Alphabet guide can help van operators understand what vehicle providers can do to minimise downtime and where is the best place to begin. This includes working with your vehicle supplier to address the issue, optimising scheduled repairs, reviewing spare tyre and standby vehicle policies and managing service and repair networks.
