Dawsonrentals | vans gets new northern hub

Commercial vehicle rental provider Dawsongroup plc is opening a new northern hub near Doncaster for both the Dawsonrentals | truck and trailer and Dawsonrentals | vans businesses.

The new facility will be home to a fleet of over 1,000 vehicles and a team of over 30 people.

The purpose-built facility, built on a 3.5-acre site in Harworth, will be home to an expanding fleet of over 1,000 vehicles and a team of over 30 people. The site will include hard standing for several hundred vehicles housed securely with electric perimeter fencing and dedicated workspace, office accommodation and employee resting facilities as well as a parts storage facility and two wash bays. Additionally, the site will also feature a modular body-shop and mobile maintenance facilities.

Simon Ridley, Dawsonrentals | vans managing director, commented: “In 2016, Dawsonrentals | vans Doncaster location was the fastest growing business unit within the vans national network of seven locations, and in addition to the investment made in facilities, the business will also invest several hundred thousand pounds in new fleet to support this latest period of expansion.

“We wanted a site where we could invest and when required, scale even further without the need to relocate or cause any further disruption. It’s great news for our customers in the area and also our national network of customers that rely on the A1 / M18 link as part of their business expedition.”
