Revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show just weeks after the company lifted the lid on its new, longer-range e-NV200, the concept uses an additional 12kWh battery pack in the cargo space to power a refrigeration unit while also offering compact size and zero-emission running.

The unveiling of the concept came as the new T-Charge scheme came into force in London and precedes the planned 8th April 2019 launch of the Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), depending on the results of a consultation held earlier this year.

Commenting on the concept, Ashwani Gupta, senior vice president of the Renault-Nissan LCV Business Unit, said: “The e-NV200 Fridge Concept will create huge value for commercial users – generating more business, as well as reducing the cost of ownership. With zero emissions, it’ll be perfect for busy urban environments where larger vehicles are often prohibited.”
