Oakley Industrial Services keeps drivers’ hours in check with tracking

Based in Corby, Northamptonshire, the firm provide services all over the UK and first fitted Routemaster tracking when it discovered by cross-checking timesheets that one of its employees wasn't working the hours he claimed. Following installation of the technology there have been no more incidents of this kind.

“We have six vans going out with teams of workers across the country, and Routemaster tracking allows me to keep an eye on where they are and what they're doing,” said director Natalie Clarke. “I can follow the vans on a daily basis then, when the teams submit the hours they've worked, I can generate weekly reports to confirm those submissions are accurate.”

The live tracking feature has proved particularly useful. “It genuinely does show location in real time, so I can quickly pick up any major discrepancy,” Clarke added.

The firm has reported additional benefits – mentioning the presence of the AGM equipment when, for instance, switching insurance companies helped gain Oakley a saving of well over 40% compared to the previous year's premiums.

In addition, Oakley Industrial Services has benefited from improved vehicle security as well as the ability to keep customers informed.

“Sometimes a site will phone up and ask when our guys will be there and now I can have a look and give them an ETA” added Clarke, “but the main thing is keeping track of our employees. I'd advise anybody with more than two vehicles and who can't keep an eye on their workers during the day to have AGM Routemaster tracking fitted,” she concluded. “As a facility for remote supervision, it really does work.”
