Procurement for Housing adds Days Contract Hire as preferred supplier

The deal means that Days Contract Hire will be responsible for supplying a multi-faceted fleet solutions package, including fleet management services for both cars and commercial vehicles. The vehicles supplied will be used to help distribute £2.5 million of goods and services to more than 800 social housing providers throughout the UK.

PfH is the largest and fastest-growing procurement consortium and its members now represent over 60% of the UK's total social housing stock, producing a saving of around £50m a year to the social housing providers.

As a nominated supplier, Days Contract Hire will use its industry knowledge to provide PfH with the best vehicles for its needs, taking into consideration what the vehicle will be used for, who will be driving the vehicle, CO2 emissions, BiK taxation, first-year allowances and fuel economy as part of its fleet management services.

Kayleigh Blackburn, category manager of Procurement for Housing, said: ‘We were impressed by Days Contract Hire's knowledge of the industry. We liked that it offers a consultancy package, one of the key reasons it was successful at winning nominated, preferred supplier status. This personal approach not only offers value for money, but also provides an invaluable fleet management support service to PfH members.’

Director of Days Contract Hire Aled Williams said: ‘We are proud that Procurement for Housing has decided to choose Days Contract Hire as one of its nominated, preferred suppliers. This is the second preferred supplier agreement, in this sector, we have won this year. We are able to draw upon our experience assisting them in choosing the most affordable vehicle for their needs with the service levels they expect.’
