2U Food grows fleet with new Isuzu Grafters

Merseyside-based catering company 2U Food is deploying 21 new 3.5-tonne Isuzu N35.125 Grafters on its fleet to support rapid business growth.

The new Isuzu trucks will operate Monday to Friday, clocking up between 200 and 700 miles per week

The business, which added its first Isuzu trucks in 2018, has already taken delivery of the first 11 trucks. These join its existing 75-strong commercial vehicle fleet, of which 90% are chassis cabs from the Japanese manufacturer.

Each of the Grafters is mounted with specialist Jiffy Banquet bodywork from Jiffy Trucks. The custom-built bodywork features a dedicated oven, ambient storage and a refrigerated compartment to offer convenient access to a range of hot and cold food, plus drinks.

Also kitted out with features such as an auto on/off hand wash unit to help 2U Food maintain its five-star hygiene rating, the new vehicles will provide mobile catering solutions to businesses across the north west of England.

Paul Foster, managing director of 2U Food, said: “We are consistently impressed by the performance and reliability of every Isuzu in our fleet. When you add the superb aftersales support we receive from the dealer network, it’s clear to see why we’ve returned to them time and time again.

“Our fleet is continually growing, and we now regard Isuzu Truck as our most trusted chassis partner; their vehicles keep the wheels of our business turning.”

Foster added: “Historically, we used to keep two spare vehicles to provide cover for breakdowns, as we would never want to risk letting our customers down. However, since moving to Isuzu, we’ve found we no longer need to do that. With the Grafter we reliably get more miles from every one on the fleet, with significantly less downtime.”

John Briggs, managing director of Jiffy Trucks, commented: “Paul first introduced us to the Isuzu chassis in 2018, and since then we have completed more than 350 conversions. Isuzu is always a pleasure to work with and despite being a major manufacturer, it has the feel of a ‘family-run’ business where nothing is too much trouble. The team is easy to contact whenever we need anything; it’s a seamless operation and they make our work so much easier.”

The new Isuzu trucks will operate Monday to Friday, clocking up between 200 and 700 miles per week. They leave 2U Food’s hub in Rainford and Manchester each morning, delivering to customers across Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside.
