The D-Max 2.2 Commercial arrives hot on the heels of the D-Max 2.2 Diesel, which debuted at the CV Show 2026 and gains a new 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine as standard, replacing the 1.9-litre version.
The D-Max 2.2 Commercial is available in all double cab versions including DL20, DL40 and V-Cross specifications, and maintains its four-door layout but features a full interior conversion to secure its official commercial vehicle status. The rear seats and seat belts are removed and replaced with a solid bulkhead using a mesh viewing screen fitted behind the front seats. The Commercial version also gains a flat phenolic floor along with a rear cab protection panel fitted with mesh vision panel in the flatbed load area. Rear door windows are darkened and a ‘Commercial’ badge on the rear flags up the designation.
As with all Isuzu D-Max 2.2 pickups, the new commercial variant can be fitted with an optional bedliner to the rear loadspace as well as a towbar or canopy, either at point of ordering a new vehicle or as Isuzu aftermarket accessories.
The D-Max 2.2 Commercial features a payload capacity of over one tonne and a towing capacity of 3,500kg. The new 2.2-litre bi-turbo diesel engine outputs 163hp and 400Nm of torque, while a shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive system allows switching between high gear two- and four-wheel drive at speeds of up to 62mph. A low-gear four-wheel drive mode, coupled with rear differential lock and Rough Terrain Mode, is standard across the range.
Alan Able, managing director of Isuzu UK, said the D-Max 2.2 Commercial delivers both practical and financial benefits.
“The commercial variant joins the single, double and extended cab options launched earlier this year, and expands the pickup’s appeal across broad commercial, utility and agricultural environments,” he added.
The new D-Max 2.2 Commercial is now available to order from Isuzu UK dealers, priced from £34,745 CVOTR. A full range of finance options specifically for the commercial vehicle is offered through the Isuzu dealer network.
As with the rest of the D-Max 2.2, it comes with a five-year / 125,000-mile warranty, UK and EU roadside assistance.
