Logistics UK has bolstered its member representation in Northern Ireland with the appointment of Brenda Maguire as its policy lead for the nation.

Maguire will operate out of Logistics UK’s Belfast office and brings a strong track record of representing major organisations and industries across Northern Ireland with more than 16 years’ experience working in policy and campaigning roles.

In her new role, she will lead Logistics UK’s policy activity in Northern Ireland, working closely with members, political stakeholders and industry partners to champion the priorities of the logistics sector.

Maguire said: “Logistics underpins every part of the economy, and as we navigate the post-Brexit environment, global uncertainty and move towards a greener economy, an efficient logistics sector is critical for economic prosperity and supply chain stability.

“I look forward to working with our members across Northern Ireland to understand their priorities, represent their interests and help ensure the sector can continue to operate safely, efficiently and sustainably in our unique trading position.”

Logistics UK chief executive Ben Fletcher said the new appointment is timed at a critical juncture for Northern Ireland’s economy.

Brenda’s appointment will strengthen our ability to champion the sector, support our members and highlight the essential role logistics plays in driving economic success.”
