Arriving hot on the heels of the passenger double-cab models that marked Mitsubishi’s return to the UK, this specialist commercial variant combines the model’s rugged capabilities with commercial vehicle benefits.

Fitted with a perforated steel bulkhead behind the cockpit, the permanent cabin conversion removes the rear seats and seatbelts, replacing them with a durable phenolic floor complete with four integrated D-ring load restraints. Complete with privacy glass on the rear doors, this design swerves the UK tax rules implemented in April 2025 that mean standard four-door double-cab pickups are now classified as passenger cars rather than commercial vehicles.

By ditching the rear seats and the seatbelts, the L200 Series 7 Commercial delivers tax advantages for business users, including reclaimable VAT, 100% first-year capital allowance, a fixed annual road tax of £360 and a Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) flat rate of £4,170 based on 2026/27 figures.

The conversion carries over the L200’s payload in excess of one tonne and a 3,500kg towing capacity. It’s available in both Titan and premium Barbarian specifications, which have a maximum payload of 1,092kg and 1,025kg respectively, and an 80kg roof loading capacity.

As with the passenger double cab, the Commercial version sports a 2.4-litre bi-turbo engine producing 204hp and 470Nm of torque, with a six-speed automatic transmission as standard. The rear-wheel drive set-up with optional four-wheel drive includes seven selectable dynamic modes to take on every environment. The Barbarian’s Super Select 4WD II system with torque-sensing locking centre differential uniquely permits full-time four-wheel drive to be used on tarmac as well as off-road, perfect for towing.

The L200’s load bed interior is 1,555mm long by 1,545mm wide with a depth of 526mm. It’s able to fit a standard 1200 x 800mm Euro pallet and provides ample space for bulky tools or materials, completed with fixings for secure tie-down of loads.

The Mitsubishi L200 Commercial is the newest addition to a growing market of four-door, two-seat pickups, standing alongside established rivals such as the Ford Ranger 2-seat and the Isuzu D-Max 2.2 Commercial.

Alex Sheward, head of sales for Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said: “The new commercial variant joins the range with the kerbside appeal and practicality of the all-new L200 Series 7, together with the tax benefits of its commercial status.

“The addition of a commercial option in both Titan and Barbarian specification extends demand for the all-new L200 across industries, coupling its prowess in demanding environments with the tax advantages of a commercial vehicle.”

The L200 Titan Commercial is priced from £37,495 CVOTR, while the Barbarian Commercial starts from £41,195 CVOTR.
