Logistics UK has strengthened its senior leadership team with three key appointments designed to drive growth and deliver enhanced value for its members.

Verity Davidge and Jenny McMillan OBE will join the business group from Make UK in mid-November as the executive directors of campaigns and performance & governance respectively. Meanwhile, Ben Garratt takes on a new role as chief external affairs officer after spending the past few months as interim executive director of campaigns.

Ben Fletcher, Logistics UK chief executive, commented: “I am delighted that Verity and Jenny have agreed to join Logistics UK at such an exciting time. Both bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the business and have ambitious plans to help us grow. Attracting talent of their calibre is a great recognition of the role that logistics plays in the economy, and I look forward to working with them.”

He added: “Ben Garratt has done an outstanding job in the past few months as interim executive director of campaigns, and I am delighted we can acknowledge his talent to enable him to lead the public face of our campaigning activity.

“All three will be critical to our mission to deliver more for our members in the coming weeks and months.”

Verity Davidge was previously director of policy and public affairs at Make UK, where she played a leading role in securing government commitment to an industrial strategy and ensuring that members’ views were represented to policymakers.

Jenny McMillan OBE spent eight years as Make UK’s business performance director, where she oversaw business strategy, led major service delivery and managed external governance.

Fletcher continued: “The work of Logistics UK is fundamental to the Government’s ambitions for growth across the economy, and I am confident that Verity, Jenny and Ben will all make a significant impact. They will give the next stage of our development a real boost.”
