Toyota GB has named Matt Docksey as its new general manager of fleet, heading up the team responsible for fleet business across the Toyota and Lexus brands, as well as Toyota Professional light commercial vehicles.
The promotion marks the latest milestone in Docksey’s 14-year career with Toyota, which began on a student placement in 2012. He transitions into the senior leadership role from his most recent position as a senior manager in Toyota’s used vehicles and vehicle remarketing operation. Docksey also previously served as a senior brand manager for Lexus and holds extensive experience within product marketing, systems and network sales across the business.
Docksey takes over the position from Paul Fricker, who was recently promoted to director of the operations division as part of a wider corporate restructuring at Toyota GB.
In his new role, Docksey will work with the wider team to continue the development of the brands’ strong propositions for the UK fleet market and will champion Toyota’s ‘multi-path’ powertrain strategy.
“Across Toyota, Lexus and the Toyota Professional LCV line-up, we have a comprehensive range of models, from highly practical commercial vehicles to prestige SUVs. Going further, our multi-path technology approach ensures our fleet customers can specify a powertrain that best suits their needs and business priorities – hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery electric and our diesel engines for LCVs,” he stated.
Docksey also aims to position the manufacturer as a comprehensive, ‘one-stop shop’.
“Our service today goes far beyond the vehicles themselves. As a trusted partner, we can provide a one-stop shop for finance and insurance products through Toyota Financial Services, Kinto and Toyota Insurance Services; and vehicle preparation and conversion at Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK.
“With this excellent platform and our customer-first focus, I am confident we can continue to build our presence across the fleet market, delivering high-quality products and services to all customers, from large-scale operators and SMEs to smaller businesses and those requiring specialist conversions,” Docksey concluded.
