The Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) is set to significantly boost its representation among smaller fleets by awarding 50 new funded bursary memberships before the end of 2026.
The Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) is set to significantly boost its representation among smaller fleets by awarding 50 new funded bursary memberships before the end of 2026.
The initiative is being funded by FleetCheck, which wants to help make the benefits of being part of the industry body as widely available as possible to its customers.
Peter Golding, chief executive of the fleet software firm, elaborated: “Our view is that being part of the AFP is a huge benefit to any fleet and enabling as many of our users as possible to access those benefits will help them become safer, more efficient, more progressive vehicle operators.”
He added: “We’re longtime members of the AFP and often recommend joining to our users. It’s an excellent organisation that provides superb support to fleets – promoting dialogue, high-quality training and the sector’s wider interests.
“For a while, we’ve been identifying means of supporting the wider fleet community and have launched a series of initiatives such as our recent FleetInsights online library. These new AFP bursaries are a further step in that thinking.”
The 12-month memberships will be awarded to FleetCheck customers, with qualifying criteria currently being finalised. The initiative aims to identify operators who would benefit most from the AFP but otherwise lack the means to join, encouraging active engagement with the organisation.
The AFP said the targeted approach aligns directly with the industry body’s broader growth strategy.
Paul Hollick, AFP chair, commented: “One of our key aims for 2026 is to increase our representation among smaller fleets and while FleetCheck has many larger, corporate customers, it is especially well-represented in the SME sector and these bursaries should help towards our objective.”
As part of the new arrangement, FleetCheck will become an AFP Platinum level member, and also hold two webinars in conjunction with the AFP – one for its customers at 10am on 20 October and one for the wider fleet community later in Q4 of 2026.
