ACFO has named the winners of its Small and Large Van of the Year titles at its annual awards dinner.
Held last night (16 November) at the St John’s Hotel, Solihull, the event saw the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter retain its place from last year as the fleet favourite in the Large Van of the Year category while the Ford Transit came in as runner-up.
Within the Small Van of the Year title, the Ford Transit Connect returned to the winners’ circle to collect the Small Van of the Year Award for the 13th time after missing out last year, with the Volkswagen Caddy highly commended.
The awards, voted for by members, also saw both the AA and Licence Bureau take the top spot in the Fleet Service Company of the Year category while Marshall Leasing scooped the Fleet Leasing Company of the Year title with Zenith named as runner-up.
Brake laid claim to the Fleet Safety Service/Initiative of the year for its work to drive occupational road risk management and Apple was named as the runner up to the award for its launch this year of a ‘Do Not Disturb’ while driving feature on iPhones running iOS 11.
Within the car awards, the Skoda Superb and Mercedes-Benz C-Class were named joint winners of the Fleet Car of the Year title while Tesla took the crown for the newly named Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle of the Year Award with its Model S – voted Green Vehicle of the Year last year – with the BMW i3 and Hyundai Ioniq coming in as joint runners up.
