Actavo recently won the contract to install smart meters in homes across the UK and has chosen Europcar UK’s commercial vehicle fleet to fulfil the logistics needed to deliver the service.
Actavo needed access to a large number of vans, fitted-out to its own specification in a very short timescale. In particular, the company wanted to be able to provide its newly-recruited engineers with access to Bluetooth so that they could use Apple Airtime on their mobile devices for navigation to customers’ properties.
Europcar UK sourced the Citroen Dispatch Panel Van specifically for Actavo due to the features they offered, including dual side loading doors. In addition, the vans were pre-fitted with racking and Flettner air vents to release any gas residue as well as liveried with the Actavo brand.
Edward Comerford, Fleet Manager at Actavo, said: “We decided not to go for outright vehicle purchase or contract hire. Instead, Europcar’s experience in working with a number of major infrastructure and engineering businesses made it the ideal fit for Actavo. Combined with its national network, means we gain access to a commercial fleet wherever we need it.”
