ALD Automotive's LCV operations manager Matt Dale praised the model’s clean and efficient range of Euro 6 engines, as well as the availability of models with front- or rear-wheel drive.
“Offering customers a choice of drive configurations is a revolutionary step, and with its superb engines across a wide span of power outputs the Vito can now be tailored to suit a vast array of applications,” he said.
New Vito was launched at the 2015 Commercial Vehicle Show in April, and comes in three lengths and at three gross weights. Vito is available as a panel van, a crew van with second row of seats, or a Tourer which can carry a driver and up to eight passengers.
Power comes from 1.6 or 2.1-litre diesel engines, producing from 65 kW (88 hp) to 140 kW (190 hp) and driving through six-speed manual or advanced 7G-Tronic Plus seven-speed automatic transmissions.
Like all Mercedes-Benz vans, the New Vito also comes as standard with MobiloVan, which promises free roadside assistance across the whole of Europe for 30 years.
“This vehicle has also raised the bar in terms of comfort and refinement, and of course it has highest levels of safety too,” continued Mr Dale. “Because it has such strengths across so many fronts we also expect it to be even more competitive in terms of residual value than the outgoing model.”
