ALD to expand into public sector under new appointments

ALD’s total fleet size grew by more than 18% in 2013 to over 97,000 vehicles. With a growing pipeline of orders, the firm expects this figure to exceed 100,000 during 2014, with the public sector to play a leading role.

As part of its move to help strengthen its public sector offer and develop this area of the business, Bernard Tomkins has been appointed corporate sales manager specifically for the public sector. Tomkins has more than 15 years’ experience in the automotive industry and joins ALD from Northgate.

In addition, Tracy Paton has been appointed as bid manager. Paton began her career in the industry with Arval but has spent the last eight years with ALD. Her attention to detail and expert leasing knowledge will help strengthen and enhance ALD’s bidding process.

ALD has also promoted Gary Willcocks to head of new business sales. Previously, Willcocks worked as corporate sales manager and has significant sales and sector experience. He has been with ALD for 11 years and will be responsible for the corporate and public sector new business team.

Mel Dawson, managing director for ALD Automotive, said: ‘These new appointments will really help strengthen our multi-channel sales strategy and underpin our commitment to growth in the corporate and public sector. We’re pleased to recognise and reward the talent we have in the business, but to also bring in fresh thinking and specialist knowledge. Bernard, Tracy and Gary will help to put ALD in a great position for continued growth in the year ahead.’
