ALD to spotlight how telematics can help switch to AFVs at Silverstone Fleet Show

This event, which is being held on 11 May at the Silverstone circuit, will provide fleet decision-makers with the chance to talk with the telematics specialists at ALD Automotive to find out how its ProFleet2 technology can determine the suitability of AFVs for fleet operators.

First launched in 2004 as a way of reminding fleet drivers to service their vehicles on time, the award-winning ProFleet2 telematics system has been developed into a proven and all-encompassing fleet management solution delivered through the www.profleet2.com portal. It also bears the distinction of being unique within the marketplace, with over 40,000 units installed to date.

While ProFleet2 can help fleets in a number of key areas – including cost reduction, risk management, CSR reporting and fleet/fuel efficiency – it can also be used to support and help educate ALD customers on their own AFV choices.

Already ALD has itself tested a number of AFVs including Mercedes-Benz Hybrids and Nissan LEAF full electric vehicles, using real-world testing backed up by the comprehensive data supplied by onboard telematics technology to provide practical experience of running such vehicles.

As a result, the firm is able to provide factual data and advice on making the transition to AFVs as part of the Smart Mobility solution.

As well as looking at AFVs, the Smart Mobility dedicated team of specialists can help businesses introduce more effective mobility solutions across all areas of the fleet operation, covering everything from leased cars, short-term rentals, salary sacrifice, grey fleet management and personal leasing through to even motorbikes or scooters.

The Fleet World Fleet Show will also see ALD announce details of its new TCO Plus product, intended to help businesses find the optimal solution for all methods of transport.

The new product will see a dedicated team apply Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodology across all areas of corporate mobility to assess the best transport solutions. The resultant solution will look at all areas of operation to determine the right mix of company cars, cash allowances, grey fleet vehicles and other transport methods to provide a holistic mobility solution.
