All-new Trakm8 telematics solution to help fleets adapt to new normal

A new telematics device designed to support fleets adapting to a new normal during the pandemic has launched from Trakm8.

The Connect 200 has been designed to be flexible; requiring just a 12v Aux socket for full connectivity

The Connect 200 has been developed to provide a solution for fleets switching to new working practices, whether that be increased use of short-term or contract hire solutions, more grey fleet vehicles or extra requirements for commercial vehicles.

Thanks to its flexibility, the Connect 200 can support all types of fleet use. It only requires a 12v Aux socket for full connectivity, providing easy removal and reinstallation between vehicles such as vans or grey fleet cars. And its single button can be pressed to easily designate journey types.

Alongside its adaptability, the Connect 200 can also help bolster driver safety. It comes with real-time vehicle tracking, via Trakm8’s Insight Portal and iOS/Android apps, which can also provide a driver behaviour score on a number of key metrics, including acceleration, braking, cornering and speeding. The data accumulated here can then be used by fleet managers to identify training opportunities for their drivers, reducing the risk of accidents and vehicle downtime.

Peter Mansfield, group sales and marketing director at Trakm8, said the new solution reflects the vital role that UK fleets are playing in the fight against Covid-19, and could also help businesses having to remobilise fast as lockdown conditions lift.

“As the vaccination programme develops, potentially thousands of business drivers could soon be back on the road. That’s why we have introduced the Connect 200 offering, ensuring drivers and fleet managers have all the tools they need to do their jobs as effectively and efficiently as possible.”

Mansfield continued: “Recognising the fact that fleets are having to be more reactive than ever before and work in ways far different from the norm, we are committed to getting them set up with the right telematics as quickly as possible. That’s why we’re proud to be able to offer next-day delivery on the system, meaning vehicles can be fitted with the solution and out on the road in as little as 24 hours.”
