Allianz partners with Lightfoot for improved fleet driver safety

The partnership with Lightfoot enables Allianz’s Fleet and Motor Trade policyholders to purchase Lightfoot at a discounted rate. Lightfoot’s small in-cab device can be fitted to any vehicle’s dashboard to provide real-time audio and visual feedback and coaching for drivers. The product has the ability to improve driving in real-time, in the vehicle, rather than retrospectively through substantial data analysis.

Lightfoot allows the driver to be in control because it gives the driver the opportunity to modify their driving behaviour as they drive. Only if they ignore multiple warning prompts will an alert be sent to a chosen representative/manager within their weekly report. According to Lightfoot, this unique approach has been proven to reduce ‘at fault’ accidents by up to 50% and fuel consumption by up to 20%. An additional key advantage is the simplicity of reporting, with data shown in an easy to interpret one page table, configured to a client’s requirements.

Commenting on the partnership, Martin Kadhim, director at Lightfoot, said: “Lightfoot takes a radically different approach to traditional telematics by empowering the driver to change their own behaviour. We are delighted that Allianz has chosen to work with Lightfoot, recognising our unique methodology as an effective means of helping UK fleets become safer and more efficient.

"Real-time, all-of-the-time coaching generates consistent and lasting improvements that not only enhance driver competency, but cut fuel bills, accidents, wear and tear, CO2 emissions and the volume of data that fleet managers have to contend with – a win, win situation for all involved."
