AO expands delivery fleet with 130 vans from Fraikin

Online electricals retailer AO is deploying 130 new home delivery vans from Fraikin to say thank you to its drivers.

The new vans have been specified to ensure they’re the most premium and comfortable vans ever seen on the fleet

Part of an ongoing contract hire agreement with Fraikin, the new 3.5-tonne vans have been custom built by Bevan Group using a Mercedes Sprinter suspension and chassis, and specified to ensure they’re the most premium and comfortable vans ever seen on the fleet.

The vehicles have been carefully designed in line with driver feedback in recognition of the integral part the crews play in its delivery proposition. Features include wider seats and satellite navigation with latest Apple and Android CarPlay connectivity, plus extra safety features such as auto collision avoidance, high wind compensation and lane assist.

David Ashwell, MD of AO Logistics, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome these new vehicles to our fleet and continue our successful partnership with Fraikin. We currently have over 300,000 five-star reviews on Trustpilot which really is testament to the amazing drivers and engineers who go above and beyond delivering brilliantly for our customers every day. These new vehicles are our way of thanking them for their outstanding service over the last two years and will hopefully make life on the road even more comfortable as well as easier for them.”

The new vans are being supplied in AO’s striking green vinyl livery and used by the retailer’s two-person crews to deliver appliances to customers across the country.

AO has already invested in its delivery fleet earlier this year. The retailer acquired 10 CNG-powered tractor units in March as part of work to reduce its carbon footprint and improve sustainability across its commercial vehicle fleet, which operates from the firm’s 18 local depots, delivering to 98% of UK postcodes every day of the week
