Applied Driving Techniques to enhance driver training solutions with new appointment

The company, a leading provider of fleet compliance and risk management solutions, said the new management role will enable it to further develop its team of driver trainers within the UK, support new and existing customer requirements and develop advanced training services.

Pooley holds a wide range driver training and safety qualifications, licences and certificates having become an advanced driving instructor (ADI) in 1999. He initially established his own successful driving school in Tunbridge Wells, before achieving his MSA race licence and establishing a full-time role at Mercedes Benz World in Weybridge, home of the famous Brooklands racing circuit. Here he was responsible for teaching drivers of all ages on Mercedes Benz World’s private track.

Most recently, Nev worked within the corporate fleet sector, particularly the oil industry, where he provided compliance training, risk management seminars and UK familiarisation services. After gaining his Lantra 4×4 certificate, he spent a period of time working in Turkana, Kenya, where he was responsible for training employees operating within outback desert areas.

Andy Phillips, director of Applied Driving Techniques commented: “This appointment will further enhance our driver training solutions and support the growth strategy of the business moving forward. Nev brings a wealth of experience to the role, so his expertise will help our fleet customers overcome the compliance and safety challenges they face.

“With a number of new partnerships starting in the coming months, he will also ensure we have the necessary skillsets in place to deliver solutions that demonstrate measurable results and significant return on investment.”
