Aquaflow restores first-gen Sprinter to commemorate landmark delivery

Kent-based Aquaflow Services has acquired and restored a first-generation Sprinter as it takes delivery of its 100th Mercedes-Benz van.

The vehicle is an exact replica of the company’s original Mercedes-Benz, which was purchased in 1999, shortly after it began trading.

Aquaflow, which provides an array of plumbing, drainage, pump, tanker and mechanical services, also celebrated the arrival of its 100th Mercedes-Benz van by wrapping the landmark vehicle in shimmering gold.

As with most of its 99 predecessors, the gold van was supplied by Sparshatts Truck & Van and wears the personalised registration, MY 100 TH.

Like most of the firm’s Sprinters, the gold vehicle is fitted with a high-performance jetting machine for clearing blockages – other vans are specified as mobile CCTV units for surveying drains and sewers.

The vehicle is allocated to drainage engineer Neil George, who is based in London’s Docklands, as a reward for the way he has looked after previous vehicles.

“We run our vans for three years,” explained founder and managing director Keith Borrett. “When Neil’s come back at the end of the term they’re invariably as clean as the day he took delivery, if not cleaner.”
