The DVD recreates a 35mph collision between a car and cyclist and highlights the shocking aftermath. Originally recorded several years ago, Arval has refreshed the short film to bring it up to date providing an important reminder of the potentially life-changing consequences of a road traffic collision.
The DVD is being distributed to some of the firm’s customers but is also available to view by visiting the Arval UK YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/ArvalUKLtd.
The distribution of the DVD has been planned to coincide with Road Safety Week, which runs from 18th to 24th November. Organised by national road safety charity Brake, the campaign is all about schools, organisations and communities taking action to promote road safety and help save lives.
Arval is also supporting Road Safety Week by putting company car drivers through an e-learning programme, distributing winter packs to all employees and their families, commissioning a series of safety-related puppet shows for local colleges while CSR manager Tracey Scarr will also be talking to staff within BNP Paribas for the first time.
Tracey Scarr commented: ‘The impact of poor driving can be horrific and its always worth reminding drivers of the important responsibility that they have every time they get behind the wheel. This kind of messaging should form part of an ongoing programme of communications with drivers and Road Safety Week provides a great opportunity for businesses to kick-start this.’
