Associated British Ports awards fleet deal to Teletrac Navman

Associated British Ports (ABP) has awarded a fleet telematics deal to Teletrac Navman following a successful trial at Southampton port.

ABP Southampton will now roll out Teletrac’s telematics, tracking platform and connected camera system across its 80-strong fleet, including over 30 electric vehicles

ABP operates a network of 21 ports across the UK and specified Teletrac Navman’s solutions in the Southampton region to gain increased visibility and real-time actionable insight, streamlining and safeguarding operations and making them more sustainable.

The resultant trial data, accessed through Teletrac’s fleet management system, showed significant improvements in the fleet’s safety, sustainability and cost efficiency thanks to Teletrac’s telematics, tracking platform and connected camera system.

ABP Southampton will now roll out the technology across its 80-strong fleet, including more than 30 electric vehicles and including cars and vans. All vehicles will be fitted with front-facing cameras and larger transit vans will also adopt rear-facing devices.

Craig Barbour, general manager at Associated British Ports, commented: “As a transport and logistics business with a significant spread across the UK, it is our responsibility to ensure that our practices and operations are as safe and sustainable as possible. We have worked hard to increase the sustainability of our Southampton site to great success and have been really impressed with Teletrac Navman’s platform during our recent trial. Having access to real-time data has enabled us to respond quickly to insights and helped us to work smarter and safer. We’re delighted to be able to equip more of our vehicles with this technology and we’re also aiming to roll it out across our remaining regions.”
