The remarketing process for the French multinational started in October with the two-day transfer of a replacement fleet of 90 new specialist vehicles and an introduction handover for the staff involved in the new ENGIE contract.
This was followed by Aston Barclay completing the end-to-end de-fleeting of the Ford Transits – in a variety of sizes and configurations – for the bespoke November auction.
Held at its Leeds site, the sale saw impressive footfall and digital traffic, leading to a 100% conversion rate.
“Aston Barclay’s expertise made them an easy choice to handle the outgoing units and getting our employees back on the road in a wholly replaced fleet. This helped to minimise downtime and enhance efficiency of our UK operation, not to mention save us a considerable expense,” commented Ian Akrill, head of fleet at ENGIE.
Martin Potter, group operations director at Aston Barclay, added: “We were more than happy to step in and help ENGIE facilitate its unique requirement for a quick turnaround in a very tight timeframe, by managing the complete handover of its defleeted and new vehicles. The resulting successful sale at Leeds generated a quick and significant return on ENGIE’s investment, proving extremely popular with our established LCV audience.”
