Autorama signs up Prestige Fleet Servicing to provide SMR services for new Extra scheme

Autorama is perhaps best-known for its multi-marque van leasing operation, Vanarama, which odelivers around 7,500 light commercial vehicles a year to owner operators, small businesses and larger fleets.

Under the new Autorama Extra scheme, both business customers and individuals can enjoy savings on car and van tyres, vehicle rental and servicing through a series of competitive third-party supplier arrangements.

Autorama has teamed up with Thrifty Car and Van Rental to provide discounted rental vehicles, while for tyres, discounts are available from Black Circles.

Meanwhile, Prestige will provide the scheme with its service, maintenance and repair facilities. The East Midlands-based company was appointed based on the strength of its national coverage, its national labour rates and the quality of its service offering.

A key factor in the decision was Prestige’s Unity fleet management system, which provides complete, real time transparency of a vehicle’s position and progress through the SMR process, and thus helps keeps vehicle downtime to a minimum.

Prestige will be providing static and mobile SMR coverage for Autorama Extra customers, after first evaluating which is the best option to get them back on the road as quickly as possible.

Prestige commercial director, Joe Bhamra commented: "With our accredited static service centre network plus our mobile servicing solutions, we can decide on a job-by-job basis which is the best option for Autorama Extra customers – which will ensure their vehicles spend the least time off the road.

“We can also ensure that Autorama Extra customers benefit from the most cost-effective labour and parts prices, as well as extremely competitive rates for oils, thanks to our national oil agreement with Fuchs, the world’s largest independent lubricants manufacturer,” he said.
