Autorola agreement opens up Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles sales

The move means Autorola’s 2,000 trade buyers across the UK and the Volkswagen Van Centre network will be able to access used vehicles from each other to increase choice available for their customers.

All vehicles are loaded onto the Autorola platform with photos and a detailed description. They are then sold simultaneously online and on the dealer’s forecourt.

Autorola believes this initiative will help the Volkswagen Van Centre network sell more used vans annually by having an additional source of vehicles available.

Jon Mitchell, Autorola UK’s sales director, said: ‘Used Volkswagen vans have a strong following and this agreement opens up dealer stock to every single registered trader on our network who buys from us on a regular basis and provides Volkswagen Van Centres with an additional source of used vehicles.’

Roger Hawes, used vehicle and rental manager, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, commented: ‘On average each of our Van Centres has around 25 used vehicles on its forecourt at any one time, and by loading them onto the Autorola online sales platform there will be total stock visibility so we should see more sales between our Van Centres, and additional stock available to offer customers.

‘Greater stock mobility will lead to more sales, and our Van Centres have already reacted very positively to this initiative,’ he added.

Through the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles “Assured Used” programme, its Van Centre network is able to retail vehicles of up to five years and 100,000 miles and represents a significant contribution to each Van Centre’s annual turnover.
