Leasing giant Ayvens could add up to 500,000 Stellantis vehicles to its fleet across Europe by 2026 under a new frame agreement.
The vehicles will span a range of brands, vehicle classes and propulsion types across the Stellantis group, supporting the progressive transition of Ayvens’ client base to more sustainable mobility.
The first “significant” delivery volumes are expected to begin in H1 2024 and will continue throughout the year. Vehicles will include fully electric cars and vans, as well as conventional petrol and diesel models.
Ayvens was created in May 2023 when ALD Automotive closed its £4.2bn acquisition of LeasePlan. The combined business, which now has a managed fleet of 3.4 million vehicles worldwide, rebranded as Ayvens in continental Europe in autumn 2023, while the rebrand rolls out in the UK this summer.
The agreement with Stellantis underscores both companies’ commitment to lead the energy transition and is fully aligned with the Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 and the Ayvens PowerUp 2026 strategic plans.
Stellantis brands confirmed under the agreement include Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Peugeot and Opel/Vauxhall. However, the flexible agreement can be extended in the future to cover the entire Stellantis brand portfolio and order composition past 2024 will be flexed to fit fleet requirements and demand.
Deliveries to Ayvens will include a variety of vehicle classes, ranging from city cars to SUVs and vans (including seven- and nine-seaters), featuring the latest software, infotainment and connectivity tech.
The deal comes hot on the heels of a similar agreement between Stellantis and Sixt, which is adding some 250,000 vehicles to its global rental fleet.
Stellantis said the new deal with Avyens would aid the progressive transition of the leasing firm’s client base to more sustainable mobility options.
Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, commented: “With our renowned and electrified brands, we offer a vehicle tailored to meet every need, budget and lifestyle. This collaboration empowers both current and future Stellantis brand customers to experience our latest innovations first-hand, from advanced propulsion to seamless connectivity and unparalleled comfort. Their clients will have the ultimate test drive as we pave the way to a decarbonised future.”
Tim Albertsen, CEO of Ayvens, added: “This commercial partnership will allow us to work closely together with Stellantis to ensure more competitive pricing for our clients and perfectly illustrates our capacity to leverage our new scale and buying power to achieve better value and synergies for all of our stakeholders.”
He continued: “We play a critical role in creating an efficient and robust ecosystem with our partners in order to deliver the best value and benefits to our clients as they transition to sustainable mobility. Our goal is to lead this transition and shape the future of our industry as the leading global sustainable mobility player.”
