BDElite adds video telematics to commercial insurance proposition

BDElite has teamed up with VisionTrack to augment its insurance and claims management service with video telematics.

BDElite’s partnership with VisionTrack brings together its insurance and claims management service with VisionTrack’s video telematics solution and IoT platform

The tie-up will help fleets reduce insurance claims and costs and improve road safety, while combating fraud for commercial vehicle operations.

The firms’ partnership builds on fast-growing demand for advanced vehicle camera solutions and will enhance BDElite’s Fleet Protect proposition, including with the new VT3000 forward-facing camera with 4G connectivity. This has been designed to speed up first notification of loss (FNOL), protect against exaggerated claims, crash-for-cash scams and insurance fraud, and effectively monitor driver behaviour. It can also be specified with an optional driver-, side-, rear- or cargo-facing camera.

The solution is available to BDElite’s network of 400+ brokers and could help drive down claims. According to VisionTrack data, one fleet insurer has achieved an average reduction in claims frequency of 24% and an average 34% decrease in claims cost thanks to its video telematics.

BDElite also offers a range of complementary products and services, including legal expense insurance, claims management, specialist repair management and breakdown cover, and has introduced support for electric vehicle fleets.

“This latest development is a powerful addition to our fleet services solution, providing undisputable video evidence and supporting data that helps to safeguard both the driver and client’s business, while also reducing the time, cost and effort of resolving insurance claims,” said Julie McKeown, managing director at BDElite.

BDElite will also take advantage of VisionTrack’s wide range of vehicle camera systems to help fleets comply with London’s Direct Vision Standard (DVS).

Adam Wild, partner manager at VisionTrack, commented: “Our partnership with BDElite will further differentiate our offering and make our solution available to more brokers than ever before, so we look forward to working closely with them moving forward.”
