Bobby's Foods selects Renault Master as chassis partner

Fourteen 3.5 tonne Renault Master L3 chassis cabs have been supplied to Bobby's Foods by Renault Trucks Midlands and are fitted with bespoke and lightweight Fred Smith and Son’s box bodies complete with internal shelving.

“This is the first time Bobby’s has used Renault Trucks,” explained transport manager, Julian Hill. “Bobby’s provides a fortnightly food distribution service to local stores and we promise ‘no waiting or chasing’ to our customers. It is therefore imperative that our vans are up to the job and assist us with providing a fast and efficient service. We felt that the Renault Master was more robust than others on the market and that the suspension and reinforced chassis would ensure maximum reliability.”

The Renault Masters will replace existing 7.5 tonne trucks for one-day load deliveries, distributing snacks, sweets and cakes direct to local stores throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Mr Hill continued: “The Renault Master was also extremely easy to body with the Fred Smith boxes used in our fleet, and provides an impressive payload which all helps with the profitability of our business. We were also impressed with Renault Trucks’ nationwide 24-hour service facilities. This, together with a comprehensive four-year or 100,000 mile warranty and competitive price, sealed the deal as a one-stop solution.”

Bobby’s Food’s Plc is based in Bromsgrove in Worcestershire and delivers to 20,000 local stores using its own dedicated sales team and fleet of vans, all serviced from its Head Office and 11 regional depots.
