Bott Group acquires Van Guard Accessories

The Bott Group has acquired UK-based Van Guard Accessories for an undisclosed sum.

The deal will grow Bott’s global presence in the vehicle conversion industry while accelerating Van Guard Accessories’ expansion into Europe

The deal will combine the two firms’ strengths and expertise, growing Bott’s global presence in the vehicle conversion industry while accelerating Van Guard Accessories’ expansion into Europe.

Established in 1976 and based in Exeter, Van Guard specialises in high-quality van accessories, security and storage solutions.

Bott said the addition of Van Guard Accessories’ range of roof storage and security solutions – backed by a dedicated team of designers, engineers and customer service professionals – would enable the company to enhance service delivery and better meet the diverse needs of its customers.

Bott offers fully integrated solutions for fleets and trades, from consultation and design to van racking systems, power integration and vehicle graphics, and the investment underscores its ambition to consolidate and build upon its dominant presence.

Van Guard’s established national customer base, and strong online presence, will also provide a new route to market for Bott’s expanded offerings.

Jan Willem Jongert, CEO of the Bott Group and chairman of the Group Management Committee, said the acquisition was the logical next step in the endeavour to double the group’s annual turnover to €500m (£418m) by 2030.

“Our aim is to offer comprehensive solutions for all industries. Entering into dialogue with the Bott Group is the easiest and highest quality way to obtain vehicles equipped to meet your needs in one go – regardless of fleet size and intended use. Van Guard Accessories is a valuable addition for this philosophy.”

Nick Smith, CEO of Bott, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Van Guard Accessories into the Bott family! This acquisition will not only strengthen our market position but also enhance the value we provide to our customers, creating exciting opportunities for innovation and collaboration.”

For Van Guard Accessories, this acquisition furthers its expansion into Europe and aligns with its long-term growth strategy.

Emlyn Harris – who will retain his role as managing director at Van Guard Accessories –  commented: “Joining forces with Bott is a pivotal moment for us. This partnership supports our ambition to grow into Europe and accelerates our long-term customer focused strategy. Together with Bott we will leverage our strengths to drive success and super charge our growth journey with a vision to be Europe’s leading supplier of commercial van storage and security products.”
