Fleets have an extra two weeks to enter this year’s UK Fleet Champions Awards 2024, run by road safety charity Brake.
Now open until Wednesday 19 June, the awards are free to enter and recognise the achievements of those working to prevent crashes and reduce pollution caused by work vehicles.
Brake has partnered with Driving for Better Business from National Highways for this year’s awards, which celebrate the work of the organisations and individuals across the fleet sector that make road safety a priority.
Awards span 11 different categories and are open to fleet operators, suppliers, manufacturers and individuals.
All entries will be judged by an independent panel of experts and the winners will be announced at a ceremony at New Dock Hall at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, on Thursday 3 October 2024.
This year’s award categories are:
- Company Driver Safety (Sponsored by Fleetmaster)
- Public Sector Driver Safety
- Sustainable Journeys (Sponsored by Zurich Resilience Solutions)
- Dr Will Murray Award for Analysis and Action (Sponsored by eDriving)
- Fleet Driver of the Year (Sponsored by Samsara)
- Fleet Safety Innovation
- Fleet Safety Partnership (Sponsored by AXA UK)
- Fleet Safety Product
- Road Safety in the Community

- Road Risk Manager of the Year (Sponsored by QBE)
- Kevin Storey Award for Outstanding Commitment to Road Safety
Last year’s event, hosted at the same venue, brought together more than 230 people from across the fleet industry to celebrate 60 shortlisted organisations and individuals, along with the final winners.
Ross Moorlock, chief executive officer at Brake, said: “We’re really impressed by the calibre of entries we’ve received so far for this year’s UK Fleet Champions Awards. It’s great to see organisations that are new to the awards coming forward, but also a delight to see familiar faces – who we know are working really hard to address work-related road risk – once again telling us about their innovative ideas, new partnerships and products, and celebrating their progress towards making roads safer for all who use them.
“Sadly, many road deaths involve a work vehicle and driving is the most dangerous thing that many people do at work. The good news is that we know that with robust policies and procedures, and careful management, we see great progress in stopping road crashes and preventing harm.
“We hope to see as many fleets as possible speaking up about their work to improve road safety by taking part in this year’s awards.”
