The awards, now in their 56th year, are open to organisations of all sizes and sectors, both members of the British Safety Council and non-members in the UK and overseas, as well as past winners and first time entrants.
Launching the awards, Alex Botha, British Safety Council chief executive, said: ‘The International Safety Awards recognise those organisations from around the globe that have shown a real commitment and dedication to keeping their workplaces and workers healthy and safe.
‘By winning an International Safety Award, an organisation can enhance its reputation among employees, customers and shareholders, publicise its achievements in managing health and safety, and encourage other businesses around the world to strive to ensure that no one is injured or made ill at work.’
Applications are completed online, and applicants answer a series of questions about their organisation’s approach to health and safety. The online system is easy to use, and applicants can revisit the online questions as many times as they like before they decide to submit, which is done with a click of a button.
The closing date for applications is 21st February 2014 and the results will be announced on 13th March 2014.
The International Safety Awards Gala Dinner, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 25th April 2014, will celebrate the success of the winners.
