Taking place at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon on 1st July, the inaugural event will explore the latest trends in connected vehicles, telematics, “Big Data” and intelligent mobility services. The agenda will feature expert speakers from the Automotive Council, Department for Transport, Frost & Sullivan, KPMG and Thatcham.
‘We are really pleased to have BMW and Drive Software Solutions supporting us in this exciting new event,’ said BVRLA chief executive Gerry Keaney.
‘Both of them are market leaders in what they do and their technological knowledge and expertise have already been invaluable in helping us put together a strong agenda for the event.’
BMW’s Matt Bristow, general manager of corporate sales, said that the company was delighted to be a partner for the BVRLA Fleet Technology Congress:
‘In order to remain industry-leading for our fleet customers, we continue to invest in our model range and this Congress is an ideal opportunity to showcase the latest in technology across both BMW and MINI.’
Andrew Burns, CEO of Drive Software Solutions, added: ‘The technology landscape around vehicles and how they are managed is changing so fast that it is a real challenge for leasing companies and large fleets to keep up. Given the opportunities for leasing and fleet management organisations which are presented by big data to deliver new services to fleet customers, we think that this is a very exciting time for the leasing sector.’
The BVRLA Fleet Technology Congress also has the backing of the two other main fleet industry organisations – ACFO and the ICFM.
‘Technology is set to revolutionise the way fleets are driven, operated and managed,’ said ACFO chairman Damian James.
‘We welcome the opportunity to partner with the BVRLA on this event, which will help to prepare the fleet industry for these exciting changes.’
Roddy Graham, chairman of the ICFM, added: ‘The revolution in vehicle connectivity will provide startling opportunities for managers of fleets to increase performance and to drive down costs. Doubtless, the sooner that the fleet operator develops an understanding of the potential, the quicker those benefits might be attained.’
