CameraMatics showcases new driver safety systems at CV Show

CameraMatics has revealed three new technologies at the 2023 CV Show, helping to track fleet drivers, monitor driving habits and use AI tech to avoid collisions.

The iCoach AI-based driver training tool monitors driving habits and flags up issues, before delivering the most relevant driver training content

The driver safety specialist, which is based in Ireland, the UK and the US, offers a range of solutions to automate fleet safety and performance.

Its latest developments include MySafeDrive, a ‘first of its kind’ app enabling fleet managers to monitor driver behaviour, track and report ESG emissions and improve driver safety, all through an employee’s smartphone.

Organisations, as well as their supply chains, can use the app to track both direct and indirect emissions and implement carbon reduction policies. The app can be used as a tool to educate drivers to use their vehicles in the most environmentally efficient, safe, and economical way, and the data can also be used to consider alternative transport methods, supply chain providers, and to optimise routing.

New launches also include the iCoach AI-based driver training tool, which monitors driving habits and flags up issues, before delivering the most relevant driver training content to improve driver performance.

CameraMatics’ smart AI technology enables the auto-capture, recording and notifications of driving incidents, triggered by events such as driver distraction and fatigue, and aggressive driving habits including hard braking, acceleration and cornering.

Mervyn O’ Callaghan, CEO and founder at CameraMatics, said: “We’re the first company to introduce an end-to-end driver training solution for fleet operators, using artificial intelligence to monitor driving habits and provide the most suitable coaching modules for individuals, and we believe we can help to change driving habits for the better, making the roads safer for all.”

Finishing up the trio of launches at this year’s CV Show is i-DAS Intelligent Driver Assistance System – an AI-powered collision avoidance system to help fleet managers build towards zero road accidents.

Mervyn O’ Callaghan added: “We’re proud to introduce the world’s most advanced collision avoidance system, which continues our history of launching disruptive and cutting-edge AI-based technologies within the telematics and fleet management industry.

“i-DAS provides drivers with a whole new level of awareness when it comes to flagging hazards, fatigue and distractions, helping to reduce avoidable accidents and lowering insurance premiums. More importantly, i-DAS can help to make roads safer for all.”
