Carreg Fawr addresses duty of care with multi-camera system

Carreg Fawr Developments has installed Camera Telematics’ iC360 multi-camera system across its fleet of vans and trucks to support its duty of care policy.

Camera Telematics’ iC360 multi-camera system

The firm’s fleet delivers powder-coated aluminium windows, doors, curtain walling and glazed roofing systems for commercial and domestic clients across the UK, and the new multi-camera installation helps reinforce its road risk management programme.

In addition, the South Wales-based business expects to benefit from improvements in key areas of fleet utilisation and insurance premiums management following the widespread installation of the vehicle camera solution on its vehicles.

Marcel Baillon, financial director of Carreg Fawr, said: “Delivering large, high-value goods such as double-glazed glass units and aluminium window and door frames mean that as a business, we have a great responsibility for meeting our duty of care responsibilities when driving on Britain’s roads as well as ensuring compliance with our own Health and Safety Policy responsibilities towards both employees and members of the general public. Having the iC360 system installed on each of our vehicles means we are able to utilise up to 12 separate cameras per vehicle, allowing us to monitor/record a full 360-degree angle in addition to in-cab footage.”

The 4G and WiFi functionality on Camera Telematics’ iC360 has also eliminated the downtime seen by the firm under its previous SD card-based dashcams supplied by another supplier, which required the cards to be reformatted  on a regular basis.

The firm is also benefiting from the system’s real-time video information and fleet location as well as the device being fully CLOCS, RHA, X RAIL and FORS compliant.

Baillon added: “When a roadside incident or accident occurs, the availability of instant visual evidence delivered by the iC360 system provides Carreg Fawr drivers with the highest levels of protection from insurance fraud and accident management assistance. Overall, we have found the iC360 a great success and the support we have received from the Camera Telematics team has been invaluable.”
