The vehicles will be used to undertake both rural and metropolitan multiple drops.

The catering food supplier runs a fleet of over 30 vehicles and has purchased five new dual-compartment Mercedes Benz Sprinter vehicles, cooled by Hubbard 460 Alpha twin evaporator units featuring single-phase scroll compressors for overnight standby.

The units are designed to be quiet in operation and use less electricity than conventional standby systems. Reliability of the refrigeration system and a comprehensive engineering support service were also key factors when it came to selecting Hubbard.

Mark Thornton, distribution manager, said: “As a family business, the environment we work and live in is important to us. That’s why we have ensured that wherever we can and where commercially viable, we operate in an environmentally preferred way. These refrigeration units continue that focus.”

The five 460AELT units were developed by Hubbard Products and Leeds-based van converter GRP Group and will be used to undertake both rural and metropolitan multiple drops each day.
