CCTV and telematics insurance solution introduces multi-camera option

A new insurance policy that integrates front-facing CCTV and telematics has been upgraded to offer a multi-camera option.

Camatics is now available with VisionTrack's 360-degree multi-camera technology.
Camatics is now available with VisionTrack’s 360-degree multi-camera technology.

The Camatics solution launched in January from Direct Commercial Ltd (DCL) and uses CCTV and fleet tracking technology from VisionTrack to reduce claims and subsequently reduce premiums.

The new option means that policyholders can now also remotely access recorded footage from multiple cameras. The cameras can be fitted externally or internally, allowing policyholders to access footage from a range of surrounding cameras, fitted outside or inside the vehicle cabin and trailer, all via the Camatics portal.

The Camatics team will use the additional footage to contest third-party claims, cutting costs further. The firm added that many contested claims result from side impacts, particularly those that involve cyclists or pedestrians, and said obtaining footage from the rear, near or off side can provide vital evidence in establishing liability on those incidents that often attract the most expensive third-party claims.
