Citroën has extended its electric LCV range with the addition of a new Berlingo Electric L2 550 LX van.

The electric Berlingo can be recharged to 80% of capacity in 30 minutes.

On sale now, the new version joins the existing Berlingo Electric L1 635 LX model, bringing an extra 250mm more load length (2,050mm compared to 1,800mm) while also extending the load volume to 3.7m3 (in comparison to 3.3m3). Thanks to the standard-fit Extenso folding passenger bench seat, the load length can also be further extended to 3,250mm with a load volume of 4.1m3.

The new Berlingo Electric L2 also offers the same load area dimensions as the diesel Berlingo L2 due to the Lithium-ion battery packs being fitted beneath the load floor. It also features twin sliding side loading doors as standard.

The new L2 van is powered by the same electric drivetrain as the Berlingo Electric L1 version, utilising a 67hp permanent magnet synchronous motor that develops maximum torque of 200Nm. The front wheels are driven through a speed reducer and single ratio gearbox.

Range is up to 106 miles on the NEDC cycle and both the Berlingo Electric L1 and L2 vans can be recharged to 80% of capacity in 30 minutes using the D/C rapid charging port, which comes as standard.

In addition, all new Berlingo L1 and L2 electric models now come with a 16A, Type 2 charging cable as standard.

Prices for the Berlingo Electric L2 start at £22,180 (exc. VAT) or £22,022.80 OTR including the Plug-in Van Grant (PiVG).
