Citroën ups battery size for ë-Relay and cuts pricing

Citroën has updated its ë-Relay electric van with the introduction of a larger 75kWh battery, increasing the driving range.

The new battery provides the ë-Relay electric van with up to 15 extra miles of range, allowing for a full range of up to 154 miles (WLTP)

Also introduced on sister vehicle, the Vauxhall Movano-e, the new battery is being introduced across both 3.5 and 4-tonne models, replacing the outgoing 70kWh unit. It brings up to 15 extra miles of range, bumping up to the official WLTP range to 154 miles.

It’s coupled with a 120hp electric motor, delivering maximum torque of 260Nm, while in terms of practicality the van continues to deliver load volume of 15m3 with 1,100kg of payload.

The new larger battery pack joins the existing 37kWh option, providing a choice of options for businesses looking to go fully electric.

Despite the move to the larger battery, pricing for the 3.5-tonne model pricing remains unchanged from the 70kWh models, starting at £57,035 (excl. VAT and including Plug-in Vehicle Grant) and reinforcing the brand’s ‘Fair Pricing’ policy.

At the same time, Citroën has also cut pricing for new ë-Relay 4-tonne models with a basic MRRP reduction of £8,770. This means 4-tonne versions now start from £61,535.
