City Auction Group expands LCV offering with senior appointment and dedicated sale

City Auction Group has bolstered its LCV management team with the appointment of Sam Magee.

Sam Magee, head of LCV at City Auction Group

As head of LCV, Magee will lead the inaugural weekly sale programme every Thursday from 28 March 2024 at 10.30am, offering vehicles through the lane for some of the UK’s largest fleet, lease and corporate vendor partners.

Magee brings more than 17 years within the auction remarketing industry, having worked previously for Manheim as a group auctioneer for seven years and prior to that as an account executive at BCA.

Magee’s new role will see him take the lead of the LCV sales and auction programme, building on the foundations set by the City Auction Group team across the UK and Northern Ireland.

He commented: “City Auction Group has experienced enormous growth during the last three years and is led by a dynamic senior management team, Michael Tomalin and Darren Betteridge, who have aspirations to build a market-leading automotive defleet, logistics and remarketing solution to ultimately gain market share by way of customer service excellence.

“I am delighted to join the City Auction Group within this senior role and can’t wait to get involved with the continuing success it has experienced in Q1.”

Michael Tomalin, CEO of City Auction Group, commented: “With a record-breaking start to the year, we have high hopes for Sam to expand our LCV business in the UK and spearhead further growth across the group in Northern Ireland.”
