City Link has traditionally specialised in Business to Business (B2B) and SME next day deliveries and has more recently grown its Business to Consumer customer base.
Click&Send is a service which City Link believes will be much welcomed by a range of customers, from ad hoc business users and eBay power sellers, to those wanting to send Christmas gifts to family and friends safe in the knowledge that their packages will be delivered the next day guaranteed.
Customers select the Click&Send icon on the website, follow the prompts, and select the service required. Payment can be made by either credit or debit card, and all orders placed will be collected from the customer’s address by a City Link driver.
Tim Brown, sales and marketing director at City Link, said the partnership with Parcel2Go meant ad hoc customers would reap the benefits of City Link’s experience as a premium express delivery company, coupled with Parcel2Go’s expertise in the consumer and e-commerce markets.
He also said customers utilising the new service will have the advantage of being able to enjoy the same quality offering as City Link’s business customers, including its caged secure network, full track and trace facility, and proof of delivery, with a range of next-day and timed services on offer.
He commented: ‘The introduction of Click&Send into our portfolio of services is an exciting new chapter for City Link. We find we are taking an increasing number of enquiries from potential customers looking to send ad hoc parcels straight away without signing up to an account – both among the business community and among members of the public attracted to the premium brand by their experience receiving parcels delivered by City Link.
‘We believe with our experience in high quality, next day parcel delivery, coupled with Parcel2Go’s experience in e-commerce, this new service will go some way to addressing an underserved part of the market.
‘Customers wishing to utilise our services on an ad hoc basis are looking for the same peace of mind as our account customers. They want the same flexibility, security, and reliability regular business senders enjoy, and they realise this service is only possible through a premium carrier. We believe this new service will give them exactly what they want.’
James Greenbury, CEO Parcel2Go, added: ‘We are delighted to join forces with City Link. The rate at which our own customer base is growing perfectly reflects the demand out there for premium carriers to cater for the ad hoc sender market.
‘We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and look forward to working with a premium carrier like City Link who we know operates on a similar ethos. The company has built up an excellent reputation in the B2B and B2C parcels delivery market and we are excited to join forces to extend their offering to occasional senders.’
