CitySprint acquires EcoSpeed courier business

CitySprint has acquired Manchester-based same-day courier firm EcoSpeed as part of its continued growth strategy.

The deal will give EcoSpeed’s customers access to CitySprint’s same-day delivery services and its fleet of over 3,500 vehicles

The deal will give EcoSpeed’s customers access to CitySprint’s same-day delivery services and its fleet of over 3,500 vehicles while also further strengthening CitySprint’s presence in the North West. Founded in 2005, EcoSpeed provides urgent courier and transportation services across Manchester and the surrounding areas.

The acquisition comes just five months after CitySprint was acquired by DPD UK to expand the group into same-day delivery services and reinforces its plans for growth via the acquisition of strong regional courier businesses.

Gary West, CitySprint CEO, commented: “We are very pleased to have completed this important acquisition, which marks another step in our ongoing growth strategy. EcoSpeed has an excellent reputation in the North West, and we’re delighted to welcome their team to the CitySprint family.”

He continued: “Moving forward, it remains very much business as usual for EcoSpeed’s customers. There will be no changes to their current service or account contacts, but they can now enjoy access to our wider courier network and nationwide logistics service offering.”
