Stand 3E130 in the Cool Section Stand will feature vehicles for Enterprise Flex-E-Rent and the PharmaVan II, provided exclusively for AAH Pharmaceuticals by CoolKit, described by Steve Anderson, operations director at Celesio UK, AAH Pharmaceuticals’ parent company, as, “the most technologically advanced pharmaceutical vans on the road.”
The PharmaVan II, represents a contract signed in late 2015, whereby CoolKit Ltd will provide 900 temperature-controlled Ford Transit conversions for AAH , the pharmaceutical wholesaler in the UK, by the end of 2017.
Built exclusively for AAH by CoolKit to ensure all products are delivered within GDP 2013 guidelines, each van is fitted with a Seven Telematics Transcan unit linked to the Seven Eye portal, allowing drivers to constantly monitor the temperature of the fridge, which is maintained between 2 and 8 degrees, and the cargo area, between 8 and 25 degrees. The fridge and cargo area, which are independent of each other, continue to operate while the driver makes deliveries ensuring no deviation of temperature.
Each vehicle comes with a full reporting suite and key AAH personnel are able to track vehicles out on the road. Temperatures can automatically be logged with real time temperature recording, which is visible to the AAH Branch and Distribution network, and an audible alarm will be triggered, and group email alert generated, if there is any deviation of temperature. An alert notification has also been added which will signal when the doors to the cargo area are open.
The vehicle has additional security features comprising of six CCTV cameras which provide a safe and secure environment for the products, the drivers and the public.
Commenting on the range, CoolKit sales director, Cameron Javed, said: “We are immensely pleased to exhibit this new product at CV Show 2016. Providing an exceptional pharmaceutical distribution service is pivotal to AAH and we are very proud to have partnered with them to deliver this with the PharmaVan II.”
Having doubled the size of its facilities in 2015 and invested heavily in new manufacturing equipment, CoolKit Ltd moved into new 45,000 sq ft premises at the start of 2016. The new premises are contained within a secure 2.5 acre site in Burnley, with the move undertaken as part of a strategic plan to achieve more than £15 million worth of temperature-controlled vehicle orders annually.
The company’s new address is Coolkit Ltd,Unit 6 Farrington Place, Burnley, Lancashire, BB11 5TY.
The expansion follows the company’s average 40% year-on-year growth over the last six years. With many new large contracts underway, the workforce has already grown by more than 50% in the last twelve months to more than 60 employees.
The increase in manufacturing capacity will help the company further improve order turnaround times through improved processes and increased vehicle holding capacity, with space for 200 vehicles onsite at any one time.
