Driving Monitor has developed a new ‘Fleet Covid Passport’ system to enable the safe return of fleet driver training.
The risk management specialist firm said it’s seen a huge surge in fleet driver training since the UK lockdown restrictions started to ease on 12 April.
The ‘Fleet Covid Passport’ system – said to be a UK first – upgrades the existing ‘Passport to Drive’ system that Driving Monitor has been running for the decade and gives fleets the extra protection of a Covid-19 vaccination certification programme for fleet trainers.
Kevin Curtis, director of Driving Monitor, said the firm’s network of over 500 advanced driver trainers have been logging their vaccination certifications on the system ready for the re-launch.
“Safety is our number one concern at Driving Monitor, and we’ve been combining driver safety and technology together for the last 20 years in fleet risk management, so this was a natural progression to upgrade our Passport to Drive system,” he commented.
“We needed to give our customers confidence that our safety standards would not be compromised with the return of driver trainers and drivers entering back into vehicles. Now drivers and fleet managers can access a trainer certificate of vaccination for any course or training session that they are booked on to.”
On top of this, Driving Monitor is also looking at rolling out lateral flow testing across its network as a further measure to protect trainers and customers alike.
Kevin Curtis also reiterated general fleet industry comments that there has been an increased trend towards compliance and safety during the pandemic.
