The Ctrack Plug & Play solution can be connected to the OBD II diagnostic port in a matter of seconds. This solution will now possess improved vehicle tracking functionality to identify unauthorised vehicle movement, device tampering, engine issues, poor driving technique and accidents.
Ctrack Plug & Play’s new security features include real-time alerts if the device is unplugged or moved to another vehicle, while any movement without the engine running, such as being loaded onto a transporter or towed away, will also generate an appropriate warning.
It has also been fitted with a battery back-up that allows it to continue tracking for a short period even when unplugged from the OBD II diagnostic port. Meanwhile, the device can now trigger additional alarms for any malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) notifications and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
In addition, updated driver behaviour monitoring and crash detection can now identify severe G-Force movement, roll-over, over-speeding and excessive idling, while event snapshot recording captures important information for any vehicle crash analysis. This data is available in a comprehensive suite of reports which can be previewed on screen, downloaded in Microsoft Excel / PDF or automatically scheduled on a regular basis.
John Wisdom, managing director of Ctrack, commented: “Ctrack Plug & Play is a simple monitoring tool that can be quickly and easily self-installed. These latest enhancements mean it is an ideal solution for protecting against misuse and ensuring assets are being driven responsibly, where a hardwired tracking solution may not be suitable or is cost prohibitive.”
