This year’s show at Silverstone, which was held on Wednesday, April 9, attracted a record audience, up 40% on last year, and achieved the highest ever total of test drives of new cars.
Now, say organisers, the 2015 Fleet Show will return to the world-famous Silverstone circuit on Tuesday 12th May, when it will offer the widest possible range of on and off-track driving experiences.
Next year’s event will also include new features, including a special focus on light commercial vehicles – details of which will be announced at the CV Show at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre when it opens next Tuesday, April 29.
Fleet Show organiser, Jerry Ramsdale, said: ‘The feedback we got from both visitors and exhibitors at this year’s show was fantastic. But we know that the event still has significant potential for further growth, especially in the area of commercial vehicles.
‘We’ll retain all the ingredients that made this year’s show such a success, and we’ll add a whole new programme aimed at van fleet operators including seminars, training, test driving and involvement of the relevant industry bodies.
‘Silverstone is a great venue in this respect as it gives us the flexibility to increase the number of vehicles available for test driving, without the circuits becoming overcrowded,’ he said.
Visitors to the CV Show at the NEC will be able to visit the Van Fleet World stand (4A18) where the new LCV initiative is being launched to find out more about the 2015 Fleet Show.
Following the success of the year’s event, the plaudits have rained in for the "most successful Fleet Show ever" from vehicle manufacturers, other exhibitors and visitors alike.
This year’s show attracted a chorus of tributes, as well as identifying the most eco-friendly company car drivers. It also featured premieres of exciting new models such as the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, the Tesla Model S, the Infiniti Q50 and the Nissan X-Trail, while there was a stunning array of new models available to drive on four different circuits.
However, the Show wasn’t just about test driving and also featured an extensive indoor exhibition of fleet service companies, a "fleet on fleet" seminar programme and an extensive fleet networking facility.
Jerry Ramsdale added: ‘It is our intention to try and to surpass what we, the exhibitors and visitors achieved this year, and we believe we already have in place some of the initiatives that we help us do just that.’
