Dawsongroup opens in Hull

Dawsongroup truck and trailer has opened a branch in Hull to support operators working in and around the East Coast port.

Regional general manager Scott Bailey will oversee the site

The new branch will operate in tandem with the rental, leasing and contract hire specialist’s existing Doncaster and Leeds operations to form a Yorkshire & Humber region. While it will focus on the 12,000-strong fleet of ambient and temperature-controlled rigids, tractors and trailers, the site will also offer vans and static temperature control products.

The operations will be overseen by regional manager Scott Bailey, who has been with Dawsongroup for 15 years.

Bailey said: “We have been experiencing a significant increase in numbers of our vehicles going into the Hull area, both as the port gets busier and busier and as our rigids and trailer reefer fleet becomes increasingly popular. As a company that prides itself on proven customer service levels, we have made the positive decision to invest in the area with a full branch facility to offer more immediate support to our local customer base.”

The branch is located on a one-acre site off Burma Drive on Marfleet Industrial Estate, close to the main A1033 that runs by the main port entrance. It will initially open five days a week during normal business hours.

The new site brings Dawsongroup’s branch numbers across the UK to 24.
