Dawsongroup Vans celebrates anniversary of Transflex acquisition

Dawsongroup Vans has held a special event at its Stockton branch to mark the five-year anniversary of the acquisition of Transflex Vehicle Rental.

The anniversary celebrations saw the former Transflex staff still working for Dawsongroup Vans presented with their five-year service awards

The business was previously part of Tom Group, which collapsed in March 2018. Dawsongroup bought Transflex out of administration the following month.

The acquisition secured all 80 jobs for the Transflex staff, while also growing the Dawsongroup Vans fleet by 3,500 vehicles, taking the total fleet size to around 9,000 vehicles.

Five years on from the acquisition, Dawsongroup Vans has grown to around 13,000 vehicles while the team has expanded.

The anniversary celebrations saw the former Transflex staff still working for Dawsongroup Vans presented with their five-year service awards by Steve Miller, Dawsongroup CEO.

Gary Henry, the former sales director at Transflex who now holds the same role at Dawsongroup Vans, added: “The amazing progress made since the acquisition highlights the remarkable results that can be achieved when two teams who share the same values are brought together and all work towards the same goal – to become leaders in our industry and provide the best possible service.”

Transflex’s four branches have also been incorporated into Dawsongroup Van’s existing nationwide network.

“The Transflex locations were a perfect addition to our existing network of branches, significantly strengthening our operation,” said Simon Ridley, managing director of Dawsongroup vans. “The addition of these sites has allowed us to grow the business with confidence, creating new services and opportunities that all contribute to better service for all of our customers.”
